“So that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
When the Apostle Peter was seeking to describe what it means to be a Christian, he gave us insight into God’s motive for saving a people for His own possession. In 1 Peter 2:9, Peter tells us that God has redeemed Christians “so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” We serve a magnificently gracious God who has forgiven our sins and has satisfied our souls. And because we love Him, we desire to “proclaim His excellencies” to all who will listen.
This Halloween, as the world goes out to collect candy from strangers, we desire to reach them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Halloween Party (outreach) at Azusa Greens Country Club. It is a powerful time of receiving the broken and lost, sharing the love of Jesus with them, and revealing the gospel to each one as they are enjoying the free food and entertainment that is provided.
Will you join us as we serve Jesus in reaching our community? There are many opportunities for service, such as managing games,
cooking hot dogs, serving food, security, and many more, but the most
important ministry need we have is for Evangelists! Romans 10:13-15
states:
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,We encourage you to sign up to assist us in reaching our community for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as we share His love and salvation with the community, be blessed with us in His service!
